What does 'coucou' mean in french??
I've heard a lot of people say this when first starting a conversation. what does it mean?

It's a way of attracting your attention..kind of like saying 'Hello!' or 'Yoo-hoo!'.
French speakers say it to babies to engage their attention, and also to children or adults whose concentration might be wandering.
