peace and quiet/quietness
Are both of these phrases in use? It seems that 'peace and quiet' is much more common.
All he wanted now was peace and quietness.
All I want is a little peace and quiet.

'Quiet' and 'quietness' have a similar meaning, but it is more usual to say 'peace and quiet'. Think of it as a set phrase - a sequence of words that belong together.
