Can I say "I was on I-V drip". Are there any other ways to talk about this?

Indeed, you can say,
1. I was on an IV drip.
2. They put an IV on me.
3. I was receiving IV fluids.
4. I was put on IV fluids.
5. I had to be hydrated through an IV (if you were just given normal saline).
if you were given meds, like antibiotics, vitamins, etc, then,
I had to be given meds through an IV.
6. I was hooked up to an IV.
Or as a child once said,
7. My veins are drinking medicine. :D
I'm sure many other ways to express this idea, but these are the ones that come to mind right now.
