Don't speak russian but you really need that in the time of travel? Greetings. Now I'm making a little vocabulary for one of my friend. 1-2 pages of most needed and used words for a lonely, scared foreigner in a big cold Russia. Maybe, some people have a travel in Russia before, they (yes, i'm mean you) don't speak russian but they really need that ? Critical situations? Airports, railroad or something like that ? What the word is needed ? Thanks.

My advice for your friend will be to learn to read Russian. I remember how tough it was in Helsinki - I couldn't even read a name of a street to ask 'where is ...?', i was very close to buying mashed potatoes with pasta which looked like dessert to me. Luckily, everyone spoke English there. You shouldn't expect this in Russia. So just being able to read Cyrillic characters will help.
