abduct and kidnap Hi) What's the difference between abduct and kidnap?

They're pretty much interchangeable now (with respect to people), even if technically, kidnapping refers to children. I guess if you were talking about a pet, then you would use abduction, be we would also say "dog-napped" and people would understand what we meant.
