صديقة I have noticed that many times the English word "girlfriend" is translated to Arabic as صديقة ; My question is: If I refer to someone as my صديقة in Arabic, does that mean a friend that happens to be a female; or does that have romantic connotations? شكرًا جزيلًا

In the Arabic culture, there is no "boyfriend / girlfriend" term, only "friend" or "lover", so the word "صديق / صديقة" means always "friend". So, to answer your question, صديقة means a friend that happens to be a female.

کلمه ی صديق= دوست برای مذکر اما صدیقة = دوست برای مونث می باشد مثلا به کسی می گویید ( هذه صدیقتي ) مخاطب بفهمد که منظور شما عشق یا دلبری نیست بلکه می فهمد که منظورتون رفاقت معمولی بود

صديقه means a female friend. If you want to say it in a romantic way you can say "حبيبتي" which means "my love"
