Can anyone let me know what is the meaning of this sentence under quoted mark "I could use a hand with something"?

It's used to indicate to someone that the person speaking would like help doing something. It's often used as a subtle request, when the person doesn't want to directly say "Can you help me with...?" For example:
"You know I'm moving tomorrow. I could use a hand packing my stuff into boxes."
"I'm sick so I could really use a hand with the kids today."
