meaning of "humbling" 1. What does "humbling" mean here? can anyone give a synonym for it? I spent hours in cytogenetics and appreciated the scientists’ painstaking approach by doing some of the same exercises – basic chromosome and pairing recognition which their ‘beginners’ do. Humbling is how you feel when have done something , but then it is proven to be as as good as you thought, and you dont feel as confident or proud as before eg Its really humbling that I can lose to him: I thought he was a useless player.
