Hello Maryana,
The past continuous is used for an action which is taking place at a specific point in the past. "At 9.30 yesterday evening, I was eating my dinner."
The past perfect continuous is used for a longer action before a point in the past and has an effect on that point in the past.
"Yesterday evening I was really tired as I had been working in the garden all day."
Hope this helps
