A resume is often a very concise history of your work experience targeted directly at the job for which you are applying. In America, a two page resume is considered very long.
A CV on the other hand, is generally considered to be much more comprehensive, and focuses much more heavily on your education and training experiences. A graduate fresh from college may only have a one or two page CV, but a very experienced applicant's CV could be well over ten pages.
