Do American read Pride and Prejudice nowadays?

mostly here in the US we watch the books as movies as those who have lived before us would read. but it is a classic book so it is required in most every high school in america for kids to read in english class. if someone in america has not read the story then they at least have heard the name. it is a major movie here.

Those that do read might very well have read "Pride and Prejudice". It is a classic. However, anybody who has grown up in the U.S. with the internet probably has not read it. On the other hand, they might very well have seen one of the six movies that have been made from it.
