What does 'understand the iput' mean?
Here is an example from a textbook:
A: A database can organise all the information you type into it.
B: Yes, but I don't understand the input.
What does 'understand the input' mean? Does it mean 'know how to put information into the database'?

Every unit you enter in the database is an "input". And, as an "input" can be understood or not. Imagine you habe a database for Spanish names and someone includes an African name. You would not understand it.
