What does ming ming bah mean in english?

Ming ming bah means "You understand?" or "Understood?". Just found this out from my Chinese friend last night.
So in the case of the Tim Horton's commercial, the father says, "You must study! Not just hockey all the time!.....you understand(Ming Ming Bah)?"
