距離感(きょりかん)has two meanings:
A. a sense to grasp a distance to an object
B. a feeling where you have some gap to someone (In this case, we often use 距離 instead of 距離感.)
Example of A
良いドライバーになるには、距離感をつかむことが大切だ。
よいどらいばーになるには、きょりかんをつかむことが たいせつだ。
In order to be a good driver, it is very important to grasp a sense of distance.
Example of B
彼が信用できないなら、彼とはほどよい距離感/距離を保った方がよいよ。
かれがしんようできないなら、かれとは ほどよいきょりかん/きょりを たもったほうがいいよ。
If you can't trust him, you'd better keep an appropriate distance from him.
