どちらも時間や日にちが過ぎたことですが、「経つ」は時間や日にちが過ぎたあとのことに注目しているのに対して、、「経る」は、ある物や人が、時間や日にちが過ぎることによっていろいろ変化してきた過程に注目していると思います。
