Normalmente, delante de a, o, u, suena como la g en "gato".
Delante de e, i, suena como una j, como la palabra jamón.
Si queremos que la e o la i suenen como en gato, ponemos una u intercalada: guerra, guitarra...

the sound of the letter it self is the same no matter what, BUT depending of the letters after it, it may seem like it sounds different,
