How to say the name in German and Engish?
"The German people respect for Confucius very much and Confucianism which is the Chinese culture and also a symbol of the Oriental culture has extremely broad connotation. Confucius belongs to not noly China, but also the world."
I translate the above sentences from Chinese. What I know is that the scholar is German. What I want to know is the name of the scholar. In Chinese we call him "maolaifu"
Thank you.

The name does not 'ring a bell' as a phonetic translation. The only place I can see that reference is in Chinese, but never with a Western name.

His name is 毛来夫.

Working something out from a translation is difficult. Working it out from a bad translation of a translation (of a translation?) is impossible. Why not give the name in 汉字 as well? That would be much more useful than pinyin with no tones...

Which university does this scholar work at? We can't figure out who this person is without having something to search for.
