You have to pay attention to the context where are the words and ask youyrself what it is about?

All of us have such problems. English is very rich language and there are many synonims. Synonims have almost same meanings. When you read more books you will be able to distinguish them by yourself. It is the matter of time.

WITH the same meaning There aren't TRUE synonyms, my friend, words have shades of subtelties to them, they mean slightly different things. Like, warm vs. hot, very different, cold vs. chilly, brings a difference image to your mind. Read books, get used to them, just USE them, and perhaps you'll realize.
