check on it , check it out
Hi.
Is there any difference between "check on it" and "check it out" ?
If so, could you give me an example of it ?
Thanks.

The uses are a little different.
1. There's a pizza in the oven. Check on it.
So check on it is used with things you already know.
Tommy hasn't come home yet. Check on him.
or
2. I heard a noise downstairs. Check it out.
This is used with things that are not certain.
I have a rash on my hand. Check it out.
