"Not having a computer is inconvenient": 这句话,用中文怎么说? Which is the correct way of saying "not having a computer is inconvenient"? A) 没有电脑不方便。or B) 没有电脑很不方便。 If B, why does 很 have to be there? Thank you.

个人觉得只是汉译问题。 这类英语句子中,一定要一个be动词,比如she is beautiful.而汉语在这种句子中很少用“是”,即一般不会说成“她是漂亮的”,而会说成“她很漂亮”,也不会说成“她漂亮”,似乎总是要多出一个“很”来才顺畅。天很热。而不说成“天热”。“水很凉”,不说“水凉”。这里的“很”表达“非常”的含义也就很弱了,只是为了听起来自然。 个人理解,仅供参考。

Both of the 2 sentences are OK. The first one sounds more like "没有电脑,(someone is)不方便。" while in the last one ,“ 很” means “very”, "没有电脑很不方便" should be translated into yours. Sounds like everybody thinks so.
