what is the literal translation of " „Es wird nichts so heiß gegessen, wie es gekocht wird.“ ? is it "It will be not so hot eaten than it will be cooked? the "gekocht wird" part, confuse me a bit..... Thank you"wird" in this case is "will be" right?

One additional note: nichts isn't "not" but "nothing". I'd translate the sentence to: "Nothing gets served(eaten) as hot as it gets cooked."

It's passive in this case. than it gets(is) cooked.
