"bang on the money" in this case means "exactly correct". It is similar to hitting a nail with a hammer, if you hit/bang the nail correctly in the center, then the nail will be straight, otherwise it might bend, so "bang on" is similar to "hit correctly" or "done well" or "completed perfectly"
