What is the difference between puzzled and confused, thank you!

Hi Maggie, I think the main difference is that 'puzzled' is a lighter, softer word than confused. For example: 'He was confused about why he lost his job' 'He was puzzled about why he lost his game of tennis' Losing a job is more serious than losing a game. If we say 'He was confused about why he lost his game of tennis' then is means winning the game was quite an important thing for him.
