What is the meaning of "seiner nicht froh"? What is the meaning of "seiner nicht froh" in the following sentence? Die meine erfüllte den Planeten mit Duft, aber ich konnte seiner nicht froh werden. Is "seiner" dative case?

It would be good to get more context, but, yes, "seiner" here is dativ, in the sense of: Ich konnte darüber nicht froh werden = I could not get happy about that / from that. Hope this helps!
