Very close in meaning. Some people might consider them interchangeable but to me there is a slight difference.
Fate refers to the random occurrences in nature that determine your future. Fate will guide your life down one or more paths.
Some people believe that Fate will take them to a fixed endpoint. This endpoint is called their destiny (or final destination). There may be several routes (different occurrences of Fate) to reach the single, final destiny point.
His destiny is to become president.
His destiny is to save the world.
His destiny to die destitute, according to the palm reader.
