I also love going backstage and, at the end of the night, I would weep because I didn't want to go home.
It's probably not conditional, as there is no condition on which it depends. It is probably -- we don't have an extended context here -- a habitual past construction, meaning "I used to weep ..." or "I was in the habit of weeping ...".

Probably, it is "would" instead of "used to".
