話できたら
Can someone please help me understand the ending on this word and when to use it?
話できたら
ありがとうございますI'm needing to understand what form this verb is in so I can try and understand when to use the different forms. Thanks!
Yes, Fer is right!
You can use that sentence like あなたと話しができたら、うれしいです。If I could talk with you, it would be nice.
Or, ネイティブのように はなしができたらいいのにと思います。I wish I could speak like a native speaker.

The verb that you learned, is it 話す(hanasu)?
話すmeans to speak, while the one in your question, 話(hanashi) means a tale, or a talk.
They have the same kanji which makes it a little bit confusing especially if you just started learning japanese.

Thanks, can you be a little more specific about the form. The rules I have learned so far about past tense and verbs don't seem to match up with this ending.

It means "if I could speak". Past tense + ra = if... (it can sometimes be translated as "after (doing something)" o or "when").
