what's the difference between region, area and district, as they all refer to a place of certain areas? examples please. thank you.

1. The extended spatial location of something
"the farming regions of France"; "regions of outer space"
area:
1. A particular geographical region of indefinite boundary (usually serving some special purpose or distinguished by its people or culture or geography)
"it was a mountainous area"
district:
1. A region marked off for administrative or other purposes
2. Regulate housing in; of certain areas of towns
