Community TutorOne Meaning Of Ankommen
Can "ankommen" mean to reach one's arm / hand out to touch or get something? For instance, a book high up on a shelf.
One of these books I have has "Ich kann an das Buch nicht kommen." (I believe that't what it was.) written in it. They translated it as "I can't reach the book."
Thanks for your help. :)

Actually, it is 'rankommen', so: Ich kann an das Buch nicht rankommen. However, it is pretty much spoken language.
