Why is my written English pretty good, but I cannot speak it well? My listening, reading and writing skills are great! Most of the time I recognize all the words while reading a book or talking with a native speaker; and my writing skills are pretty good. However, when it comes to spoken English I just get stuck. I can not even think of the correct words I should use. Can you give me some advice on this? And why does this happen?

that is my problem. But after a long time, i realized, except you practice speaking and listening more and more, no way for you to improve your skills. dont be shy, say anything what you see, repeat anything what you can hear, anywhere. Sorry if my grammar has some mistake.

I have heard that speaking and writing skills are controlled by separate parts of the brain and therefore if you don't practice your speaking skills often, you will find it difficult to produce a language when speaking. The only solution is simply to keep talking with native speakers and challenge yourself in different situations where English would be necessary. Don't be shy. Just speak as much and as often as you can.

For starters, you can try reading OUT LOUD what you read and write. Remember: speaking is all about muscle memory and you need to train your muscles to form your thoughts in a foreign language.

As long as you practice speaking as much as you can, you will come over this problem
