Why is -요 used?
So I was looking at an entertainment article, and one of the quotes was:
"소개팅요? 시켜주지 마세요..."
I was confused on why it was just 요 at the end rather than 이다 (이에요/예요). So I asked my friend why that was and she told me this:
딸기요 or 딸기 = strawberry
딸기야 or 딸기에요 = this is a strawberry
So I think she means just to say that the person was just saying '소개팅' and they added 요 at the end. So why did they add 요 at the end? For politeness?
