If they have been, and still to this day keep giving you books, option 2 is correct, it can mean that you are displeasured by it but not always...

Good question. In English we could say:
1) My mom and grandma always give me books on my birthday.
2) My mom and grandma are always giving me books on my birthday.
But I think 2 would only be used if you are complaining about always getting books.
So as I said, very good question and I look forward to seeing the correct answer.
