- 옮기다: "move" in general usage. In literature, it means to translate.
- 번역하다: translate (writing).
- 통역하다: interpret (verbal).
- 올기다: move. To move things(짐을 옮기다), one's residence(집, 거처를 옮기다), job(직장을 옮기다), etc.
- 이사하다: move (one's residence, or the place of operation for businesses).
- 올라오다: come up, or move up. 올라/내려 in this context is similar to up/down with context-dependent meanings.
(서울에 올라오다 for example may mean to come up to Seoul for an afternoon, for a few days' stay, or permanently)
- 옮기다: move an object exerting effort(not something easily carried), or abstract things like residence, position, etc.
- 돌리다: distribute something (leaflets, newspapers, money, invitation cards, etc) to or among multiple people.
(돌다: turn around, spin; 돌리다: causative of 돌다, to make something turn, in both physical and figurative senses)
- 외모: general term for appearance (외: outward, 모: looks, appearance).
- 인상착의: appearance/impression(인상) and attire(착의). A term used by the police for identification of people.
- 회사가 다시 일어서다: The company (which was faltering) gets back on its feet.
(일어서다: stand up, rise up, get back on one's feet)
- "I resent what you said about my sister"
=> 내 여동생[or 언니 or 누나]에 대해서 (네가) 한 말이 기분 나빠 [싫어, 마음에 안 들어, 마음에 걸려]. (casual)
=> 제 여동생에 대해서 하신 말씀은 너무 심하신 것 같은데요 (formal and polite).
- 책상에 [or 책상 위에] 놓다 is as common as 책상에 올려놓다. 책상 is not so high you have to put it "up" there.
올려놓다 is more suitable when you place something on a high or special place, like 선반(shelf)에 올려놓다 (put it on the shelf), or 냉장고 위에 올려놓다 (put it on top of the fridge), etc.
