An interpretation of "I'll see where I stand" Hi, I'm confused with the following sentence: "You know money has been burning a hole in my pocket, so in a couple of months I'll see where I stand." What does the last sentence mean? Is the speaker still out of money in a couple of months? Thanks : )

When "money burns a hole in someone's pocket", it means that person spends money almost as soon as he gets it -- money in, money out. So he usually does NOT have much money at any given time. In a few months, he may have zero money or he may have a little bit (I doubt it). He doesn't know himself. So he will have to wait and see if he has any money at that future time. He can't predict it today.

When people say that money has been burning a hole in my pocket, it means that they have money and they want to spend it as soon as possible. There is only one sentence given but the second part of the sentence with "Ill see where I stand" most likely means that the speaker will see if they have any money left in the future (in a couple of months). If s/he is eager to get rid of the money, there is a chance that it will all be gone soon.

he does not have enough money now so he is so confused and does not know what to do ,so he must wait for few months till money is provided than he will make up his mind ,,so then he wont be out of money

This phrase means that how the speaker uses the money in a couple of months depends on how well things are going for him/her at that time.
