or how to say good luck in general? would it be 화이팅?

Yes, it is 화이팅.

For a test you should say 시험 잘 봐, it's the most common expression.
시험을 보다 = to pass a test
시험 잘 봐 = Pass your test well!
This is what it literally means, of course that's not how you say it in English, but it's the Korean equivalent.
