¿Cuál es la diferencia del uso de“excusar”y“excusarse”? ¿Por ejemplo? Gracias por la ayuda.:)

Excusar = to excuse
Excusarse = is excusing yourself, explaining yourself. However, notice that in spanish a "excusa" is widely considered an invalid explanation of something, like trying to avoid your responsavility in some event by "making out an excuse" OK, i hope it helps!

En España:
"Excusar" es un verbo más culto y menos usado que "perdonar", "disculpar".
"Espero que usted sabrá excusar mi ausencia en la boda de su hija" = Le ruego que me perdone porque no podré asistir a la boda de su hija.
"Excusarse" significa pedir excusas. Es más culto que "pedir perdón" o "disculparse".
El que se excusa, se acusa (refrán) = El que se disculpa es porque ha hecho algo malo.
"Excúseme, ¿dónde está el guardarropa?" = "Perdone, ¿dónde..."
"Excusar" y "excusarse" suenan a castellano culto de clase alta.
