Hi Ray
If you are in your 'Sunday best' then you are wearing your smartest clothes. In the past in England, most people used to work 6 days each week, then on Sunday they would go to church. They would keep one clean and smart set of clothes ready for this day. They usually could not afford to wear good clothes every day.
