Another joke I don't get.
Hello everyone.
I have a question about a joke from a book called "Dogs Don't Tell Jokes (Louis Sachar)".
Help me understand what is funny.
It goes:
What do you do when your nose goes on strike? - Picket.

Note that most jokes are meant to be spoken, not read. When reading a joke, try speaking it aloud to yourself. When workers go on strike (refuse to work), they "picket" by standing outside the place of work and preventing non-strikers from entering. "Picket" sounds like "pick it". To "pick" a nose means to insert a digit (a finger) into the nose and to perform an excavation.
