믿어 Believing in me, in Korean
Since 'i believe in you' and 'i believe you' can be used for different situations in English; i've wondered if i can say 'thanks for believing in me' by using 믿어 in Korean
날 믿어서(믿어줘서) 고마워
Does it sound right ? Does it sound like thanks for trusting me or believing IN me ?

It's completely natural.
Please note that 믿다 in conjunction with person tends to mean "to trust" rather than "to believe", but you should pay attention to the conext nevertherless.
믿다: to believe; to trust (honesty wise)
신뢰하다: to trust (ability wise)

믿어 is used for both case.
I believe in you.
네 인격을 믿어. 널 믿어.
I believe you.
네 말을 믿어. 네 말이 옳아.
Thanks for believing in me.
날 믿어줘서 고마워(믿어줘서 is more natural than 믿어서)
Thanks for believing me.
내 말을 믿어줘서 고마워.
