¿Cómo significa "colonia" en el contexto mexicano?

Hola Esteban, nosotros llamamos colonias a zonas con casas. Podría decirse que es un sinónimo de vecindario (neighborhood) o barrio.

I think Carlos is correct.
I lived in Mexico, never really heard them say that,
but I think there are parts of a city it will say Colonia this or that.
Lot of times they say "Zona," too.

No soy mexicano, pero en México se llama "colonias" a los barrios.
Por cierto, se dice "¿qué significa?" y no "¿cómo significa?"
