DOES a couple of ≡ two?
Hi there I ask this is because I suppose a couple of can refer more than two sometimes??

Yes when we say a couple <something> we are just emphasizing that it's not a lot. "I ate a couple of cookies." Is similar to when someone says "I'll be there in a minute" but they don't mean exactly one minute.

Hi Ann,
Yes 'a couple' means 2 of something. However, native speakers might use it as an approximation, so there could be 2 or 3 or 4 etc... But generally, a couple means 2!
