Both purple and violet are a combination of red and blue. Purple has more red in it, while violet has more blue in it. See this page for more information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violet_(color)#Violet_and_purple However, most people will consider them the same color! Only artists and photographers (any people who work with colors a lot) will likely care about the distinction.

A violet is a flower that grows in my yard. It is a quaint and charming way to say purple. Usually the elders might use the term to describe purple. I make tea out of violets. Purple on the other hand is a more modern term that covers a range of hues in the color spectrum.

Hello! Purple is going to be a darker shade than violet. Violet kind of has a blue tone In it, where purple is just dark with sort of a red tone in it
