Zheng Chen
It's great that she found me attractive then and still does, through all the s*** Hi, I came across this sentence, but couldn't crack the s*** ( sic.) word. Can anyone help? It's part of an article that talks about the marriage of Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe. The sentence was said by Eddie Redmayne. I guess it's some sort of expletive? Thx!

Starts with s and ends with -hit.

The word is, unequivocally, "shit." As you guessed, the asterisks take the places of letters in "bad words." As of 2017 in the United States, "shit" is exactly on the boundary between acceptable and unacceptable. Obviously, the UK Daily Mail still feels that this is an "unprintable" word.

Hi Zheng Chen, In addition to the word "shit", I was thinking of the word "saga". Saga means a long dramatic story. Cheers, Lance

The word shit used to mean just human excrement. But these days, it seems to take on several meanings, including good stuff and bad. Maybe the author's trying to sound cool trying to say he didn't understand what marriage is, or she still likes him despite all the trouble they have been through? It is a mild expletive, relatively harmless these days. I would even say something like "this is good shit" for something that is out of this world.
