Especially for anyone who's been AROUND for a while or has ever had a similar experience. Please help me with meaning of the word 'around' in the sentence above. Thanks advance.

Depending on that context to be 'around' something is that you have experience or have been working in that situation for a long time. "How long has Dave worked here?"---"He's been around a while, like 8 years." Also, someone who's been 'around' in a general context is someone who's done a lot, seen a lot, and lived a full life. Hope that helps, Andrew
