A question about the structure of an article When reading, we may come across an kind of article whose structure is organized in this way. The First paragraph serves as the opening, introduction. For example, the first paragraph mentions internet has many functions. The following paragraphs may explain the points paragraph by paragraph, usually one paragraph one point. In the case I mentioned above, each paragraph will list one function of internet. Q1: What kind of structure is this? How does the writer organize the passage and how’s the information organized? In Chinese, we call it "总分结构"。 I wonder what's the corresponding expression in English. Another one, there is one more paragraph. The last paragraph will again states the information mentioned in the first paragraph. For example, the last paragraph will again states internet has many usages. Q2: What kind of structure is this? In Chinese, we call it "总分总结构"。 I wonder what's the corresponding expression in English. Thanks a lot!

我倒觉得如果没有对应的英语,至少可以用下面的阐述,至少也能清晰表达。 总分结构:introduction-body structure. 总分总结构:introduction-body-conclusion structure.

1. I can't think of an exact word for that type of structure, but I would usually call the entire article an "essay". An essay will have an introduction, arguments and supporting evidence, and a conclusion. 2. "Conclusion" ?
