we are 3 members or there are three members of us Once I was told " we are 3 in my family is not right , So, how to say it: there are 3 of us in my family What about? "we are a family of 4 " thank you

AS you have stated, "we are 3 in my family" would be incorrect, but the other two examples are correct.
