sandal well this word seems to be a uncountable one. So how do you discriminate one and a pair of sandal? Just simply use a sandal and a pair of sandal? Or when it comes to sandal, it always refers to a pair?

It is not uncountable. Sandal is singular, sandals is plural. One sandal, two sandals. One pair of sandals, two pairs of sandals.
