MSN stands for Microsoft Network. However, if people ask you "Do you have MSN?" or "What's your MSN?" they're refering to MSN's instant messenger application, which is used to have instant text/audio/video conversations over the internet (just text generally, it's no the best for video).

You will need to make an ID to login with if you don't already have a hotmail address or other type.
