fauna- all animals collectively
animal- a singular living thing
The same thing applies to "flora" and "plant".

Hello, fauna is a broad notion, it encompasses different animals and is related to a particular region or a period of time. For example, you can say "the fauna of China", and this would mean all the variety of animals found in China.
And an animal is just a separate creature.
