Are you referring to boiled eggs with toast soldiers?
This is a traditional British breakfast or tea-time dish for small children. You soft-boil an egg, then put it standing up in an egg cup and slice off the top, to make something looking like the crater of a volcano. You also make a slice of toast, butter it, cut it up into strips about two centimetres in width, and arrange them on a plate next to the egg cup. The strips are called soldiers because they're all the same size and shape, lined up like soldiers standing to attention. You then dip the toast soldiers into the egg and eat them. Classic comfort food!
Try googling 'boiled egg with toast soldiers' and you'll see lots of pictures.

Toast soldiers! It's familiar in Australia too. :) We serve them only with soft-boiled eggs.
Just cut your buttered toast into four or five strips... just wide enough to dip into your googy egg. :)

I have never heard the word 'soldier' being used or having any relation with food. However, if you're talking about a name of one of the meals provided in the menu card or something, then it's probably just to make the menu sounds more interesting. But it normally doesn't have anything to do with food.
